Wii Sports Resort 7-26-09

Posted on July 24th, 2009 by Justin

Wii Sports Resort is coming out on July 26, 2009. This game looks like it’s going to bring a whole new layer of control to the Wii controller with the adaptor that goes on the controller. A review of the Wii Sports Resort video game will be posted here as soon as the game comes out. Possibly even sooner than the public release. :)

Up Video Game Review

Posted on June 26th, 2009 by Dalton

The game Up is based on the original movie in theaters. You will make your way through sinister forests, up in the air, in a cave, or in a dangerous secret base. You will also be battling vicious dogs, or spiders. Read on to learn about each level.

As Carl (old man) you will have to help Russell (little dude) up onto places that he can’t get to. Carl can use his cane to get onto high places, attaching it to a vine. In the first level you’re Dug (dog) and your flying in an airplane taking down planes. I didn’t get why they put that level in there. Once you shoot them down you are Carl and Russell in a Jungle.

There will be monkeys to show you how to do stuff. Like how to push rocks, how to just jump on vines, or how to get up on a giant rock with Carl and catapult Russell to the other side of a cliff. You can also destroy plants for coins, or bugs. You can find bugs under logs or rocks. You can catch butterflies also. It’s easier for Carl to catch butterflies, because he sticks his cane up.

In this level you find a tri-colored prehistoric bird who Russell calls Kevin, not knowing it’s a girl. Kevin is a rare bird that an evil guy wants to capture. She has babies and Russell wants to help her find them. Russell can use Kevin to do stuff Carl can’t do.

Wahoo! We’re going down a river. Dodge the falling rocks! There’s a snake! Keep going we’re almost to the light! Wahhh! Crash! It’s a giant snake! Here are a couple tips to beat. Dangle Carl from a rope and when the snake lunges at you make sure there was an eel where you were to hurt it hurt the snake tree times.

Another river? I think we time warped levels. Whoa, there is a rock right there. Swerve to the left, falling spikes! Gak, hurry! Splash! What Dug? A crocodile! Where I don’t see i-whoa! There it is. It blended in with the muck.

“Give me the bird,” demanded the bad guy. Yikes, airplanes attacking the house. This looks like a job for Dug! First you have to shoot down two planes, then four, then six, then a giant blimp. It’s super tough to do. This is one awesome game I’d recomend.

Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures

Posted on June 12th, 2009 by Dalton

This game is full of adventure, with three different worlds and a ton of levels. You can create your very own adventurer and travel through thick forests, or in a city of chaos. If you’ve ever wanted to control a Lego man in style, this is your game. It’s far different from Lego Star Wars. To make a long story short I’d recommend this game to anybody.

Justin’s  review:
I agree with Dalton. The game is great fun. It is two player and both players can play at the same time. It’s a little tricky at first to figure out what each characters capabilities are and which ones jump farthest (lots of cliffs to jump). This is a great family game, I highly recommend this as a rental and at under $20.00 it’s a great purchase.

Purchase Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures at Amazon.com.

Neighborhood Games Nintendo Wii Review

Posted on April 15th, 2009 by Justin

Neighborhood GamesNeighborhood Games is a great family game for the Nintendo Wii platform. It is similar to Playground but has different games that are just as fun. I passed the lawn darts on the first stage but couldn’t get the second one (baseball darts). Horse shoes was fun also, even thought I wasn’t too good at it. The best games are the multiple player games. My family enjoyed playing the squirt gun game. My son found an “easter egg” where he could walk around in the fields, in the houses, all over the barn, and more.  Watch for pics of that egg later. The other fun game we played was the r/c airplanes. It was a little tricky as you also use the nunchuck for steering. A hint: bomb the other person and their plane will go out of control! The object is to bomb all of tha play boats in the pool. you can also do a pretty cool close up fly by. This is a great Nintendo Wii family oriented game. Other games include ladder golf, Bocce, r/c car racing, horse, and more.  Get your copy of Neighborhood Games at Amazon and your family game night going!

Netflix To Add Nintendo Wii Capability?

Posted on March 24th, 2009 by Justin
Netflix, Inc.

This is a big one! Check out this article about the possibility of Netflix adding in support for the Nintendo Wii! I would definitely pay $9.99 for the CD. The article also mentions Nintendo is not going to include native support in the next firmware upgrade. Doesn’t matter though I’m ok with putting in a CD for instant access to 12,000 movies! What do you think? Would you pay one time for the CD?

Cool Tricks for Playground - Dodgeball

Posted on January 8th, 2009 by Justin

If you have played dodgeball on Playground for the Wii you will see characters dash up for the ball. This isn’t a cheat on how to do it but just telling how to do it. We found it in the instructions 5-6 pages in. To dash or rush up to the ball press the up button (or down depending on what side you’re on) and when the counter leaves 1 push the Wii controller forward. Time it right and your person will have super speed and dash for the ball. Get it wrong and they will fall..

Another tip: to fake a throw in dodgeball hold the direction pad in any direction and do a throwing motion. Your player will act like they’re going to throw the ball. Fake your opponents out!

How to Find Your Wii Console ID

Posted on December 23rd, 2008 by Justin

This post would have saved me a half hour or so when I got my Nintendo Wii earlier this year. Here is how to find your Wii’s console ID so you can share it with others and send your Mii’s and also send messages to each other.

  1. Turn your Nintendo Wii on
  2. Click on Wii message board in the lower right
  3. Click on Create Message on the lower left
  4. Click on address book.
  5. Your Wii Console ID will be displayed.

Feel free to share your Wii Console ID in your comments. The video below will also show how to find your Wii ID. It’s not the best looking because of the sync with the TV and the camcorder.
